GROW OBSERVE RECOVER complex and beautiful living systems in a healthy, compassionate community.
Purpose
Gift garden- GROW is the development and sustained management of an agroecology/ permaculture food production system to support local people in poverty and economic crisis.
Gift garden- OBSERVE is the Weather Station Project, an essential climate data recording point and educational resource.
Gift garden- RECOVER is EarthBench, a space outside to meet for therapeutic sessions, GP and mental health services, referrals or counselling.
Aims
- to increase and enrich local biodiversity for environmental resilience.
- to grow fresh, organic, nutrient-rich fruit and vegetables for local people in poverty and economic crisis.
- to create a secure database of local climatic information.
- to be an educational resource for schools, colleges and home-education groups.
- to offer access to a calm, safe space for therapy.
- to develop partnerships, capacity and excellent practice.
- to engage in partnership working around local civic priorities to reduce pesticide use and increase habitats for pollinating insects.
