Sally has done an assembly for them all about single use plastics and they are setting up a ‘Plastic Free Squad’. She is going to go into school to work with them to help them achieve Plastic Free School status. We shall let you know how we get on.

Plastic free schools logo blue 800x600 croppedFollowing the success of Wild Week 2023, we are keen to repeat it with Wild Week 2024, involving as many local school children as possible. However, as it is such a huge undertaking, we are waiting to hear about funding to help make our lives easier!   Watch this space!

Youth Action have also been working with @21 Youth Club, gradually getting to know the youngsters and finding out what they like. We are planning some vegan cookery sessions with them which we hope they enjoy.

Our stalls at Buxton and Leek Freshers’ Fayres have led to a meeting with Gareth Hughes from the college, who is keen to work with us, especially on enrichment experiences for the students. One idea was linked to the Repair Café, encouraging students to come along and learn new skills.

So, as you can see, we have a lot going on. We would LOVE more people to join us. If you can, please get in touch via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Meanwhile, we are trying something new for our November meeting. Instead of taking place during the evening, it will be at 2pm at the Foxlowe Arts Centre, following the Repair Café on Saturday 18 November.   It would be wonderful to see you there.   Or, alternatively, you could meet us at MCA’s AGM and All Members Meeting at the Friends Meeting House on Saturday 25 November.

Finally, an exciting collaboration with the Young Phoenix Choir. We have joined forces to host an Advent Door as part of Outside Arts Live Advent Calendar.  It's all very hush hush at the moment but should be brilliant!!
