Knowing where to take unusual items can be a nightmare for the dedicated recyclist. If we can't find out, those unloved items eventually clutter up our garages, attics or personal living space. Even worse, they may end up in landfill.
Recycle Now is the answer to all these problems. You can find out where and whether an item can be recycled and use your postcode to see what can be recycled locally. A subsidiary of WRAP, Recycle Now aims to help people recycle more things, more often.
Their database can tell you what can be recycled in your area and where. They also provide a wealth of knowledge about recycling and reducing waste.

Additional Recycling Opportunities in Leek
There are many things that can be recycled which the council do not collect. Here are a few places you can take these items.
• Soft plastic such as bread bags, veg bags : Morrisons and Sainsbury’s both have a collection point in their foyers.
• Ink cartridges : Rymans collect them and will give you 50p off your new one if you take them in.
• Pens : Rymans also collect pens.
• Blister packs : Some Superdrug stores collect them. Unfortunately the Leek branch doesn’t but there are moves afoot to arrange collection sites in Moorlands towns. However the Superdrug stores in Hanley and Buxton do already collect them.
• Water filters : Sainsbury’s has a collection box for these in store
• Crisp packets: There is a collection box for these in the Foxlowe.
